Our client is an established mechanical manufacturer based in the Havant area; they are currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Quality Team.

About the Role

Salary is circa £30'000 per annum (negotiable for the right person) plus benefits which include: final salary pension scheme, 25 days holiday, onsite parking, and future career opportunities.

The main purpose of this role is to improve customer service, eliminate waste, improve process capability, and drive down costs.

About the role…

Act as a quality professional and technical expert to production

Liaising with customers and suppliers and driving change and improvements in product and service.

Internal and external quality-related matters

Problem-solving within production

Using analytical tools such as 8D and Six Sigma

Ensure robust and timely permanent solutions to problems

Manage supplier containment and corrective actions

Appraise incoming parts appropriately, assess both direct and indirect suppliers and hence improve the quality of incoming materials and services

Maintain Quality-related data and functional metrics

Assisting the team to implement changes and improve procedures within the entire manufacturing process/cycle

Candidate requirements

Previous Quality engineering experience within a production or manufacturing environment

Six Sigma Green Belt or proven experience using Six Sigma tools

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

Experience of working within a continuous improvement environment

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Possess ability to build relationships with others, notably customers and suppliers

Driving licence required, you will need to visit customer and suppliers on occasion

HNC, Degree or similar within a relevant engineering discipline
