An opportunity has arisen for a Tenancy Support Plus (+) Keyworker within a charity based in Portsmouth. The Roberts Centre enjoys an enviable reputation for its work with families and children and has achieved national recognition for its high quality services.

This is a really exciting opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of Family Tenancy Support Workers to develop a specialist project supporting homeless people to access accommodation.

The project has been developed in conjunction with Portsmouth City Council and will involve working with 30 people over a 12 month period who are eligible for support. The aim is to improve the confidence and skills of this client group and to work with the Tenancy Support Plus (+) keyworker to avoid eviction and become independent 'good tenants'.

The work will involve taking a person centred approach to each individual and supporting them to resolve a range of issues including maximising benefits, negotiating with landlords and developing life skills. The support provided to the clients will enable them to develop the skills necessary to live independently.

As the Tenancy Support Plus (+) Keyworker you will need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working with vulnerable and/or homeless individuals and/or families. An understanding of housing law and welfare benefits is an essential requirement of the post. Most importantly you must share the ethos and values of the Roberts Centre and have a passion to help us to improve the lives of Children and Families.

Successful applicant will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Disclosure (DBS) disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by The Roberts Centre.
