An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the fastest growing Schools in the University. The School of Engineering seeks to appoint two lecturers/senior lecturers in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering. The successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent teaching abilities and their research expertise should be aligned to one of the areas of research excellence in the School of Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is one of the strong areas of research at the University of Portsmouth.  At RAE2008, 45% of the submission was rated internationally excellent and 85% of the work rated internationally recognised. The new lecturers are expected to contribute to the further development of research in the School and to deliver research-informed teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels:

Applicants should possess a BEng/MSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related Engineering disciplines. Teaching experience in the Higher Education and/or related postdoctoral research experience would be an advantage for Lecturers and are essential for Senior Lecturer.
