We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant on a 3 month minimum contract to join one of our top clients based in Portsmouth.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Reconciliations
• Trouble Shooting
• Incomplete records
• Process improvements
• Production of premium and claims. Ensuring that these are accurate and complete.
• Calculation of month end accruals where necessary and ensuring that the GL reflects the correct position
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations of all Accounts
• Releasing the excess claims against the cost when appropriate and keeping a controlled and auditable trail of this
• Assisting with forecasting and providing MI to the UK finance team
• Involvement in any system implementations
• Ensure any returns/reports/invoices are prepared within deadline
• Preparation and Reconciliation of VAT control accounts
• Become point of contact for HMRC queries and visits
• Proactively seek out areas for improvement, to improve the efficiency of all processes

The ideal candidate will be part qualified/Qualified and have a strong accounting and technical knowledge. You must be able to "hit the ground running" and be a self-starter.

This is a full time, 3-9 month contract role to start IMMEDIATELY, with a salary of £50k.
