We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Intelligent System and Robotics Group at University of Portsmouth to participate in doing the DREAM project. The project is funded by EU FP7 Framework and lasts for 4 years. The contract is initially one year, very likely to be extended for the full period of the project. The objective of the project is to deliver the next generation robot-enhanced therapy (RET) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children, developing clinical interactive capacities for social robots. The multi-camera system designed by our research group system includes the combination of the state-of-the-art RGB-D sensors, smart camera networks and sensory information from the humanoid robots. This system will provide sufficient and effective multi-modal data of human activities and the surrounding environment. Logic rules will be identified and integrated with hierarchical Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) to fuse and describe multimodal data streams.
The successful candidate will be a part of research team and work closely with our external EU partners to make sure the project progress well. The main objective of this post is to develop and implement novel computer vision and learning algorithms for human activity analysis (gesture, gaze and facial expression) especially tempo-spatial gaze pattern analysis and behaviour patterns analysis of ASD children. More specifically, the primary duties include:
