Salary: £35,784 - £39,351 p.a. (including market supplement payment and shift allowance salary up to £52,569 p.a)

Portsmouth City Council controls all of its maritime activities through the Port Services which comprises of the International Ferry Port, Flathouse and Albert Johnson Quays and the Camber.

We are looking for a Duty Port Operations Manager to join us at Portsmouth International Port. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Portsmouth International Port and assist the Ferry Port Manager/Deputy Ferry Port Manager as required.

This is an interesting and varied role which requires a great deal of initiative and a flexible approach in order for you to meet the demands of the business.

Ideally with a seagoing marine background with a minimum Class 2 Certificate of Competency, you will have relevant port management experience, preferably in a RO/RO port. With a working knowledge and understanding of DSHA Regs, ISPS code and Health and Safety at work act you will have a wide range of management skills and experience of managing staff at a supervisory level.
