The University of Portsmouth has a history of teaching and research in clinical subjects and is expanding academic provision in health sciences such as human physiology. We are committed to providing the students on our courses with a sound knowledge base and practical skills that will prepare them to work effectively in health and social care fields. Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Human Physiology. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching, tutoring and assessment on BSc (Hons) Human Physiology and related programmes; in addition, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the School’s research and scholarly activities.
Experience in teaching and assessment in the Higher Education sector is an advantage, as is supervision of postgraduate research students. Recent research activity is expected.
Applicants should have an Honours degree and a PhD/Professional Doctorate in an appropriate discipline. Experience in the use of computer-aided learning, simulation, directed self-learning, small group work and facilitated problem-based learning would be advantageous, as would the ability to teach some aspects within the broader area of health sciences.
