The Department of Sport and Exercise Science is seeking to appoint a committed individual to the position of Lectureship within the area of Rehabilitation Science. The Department is based within the Faculty of Science and holds strong teaching and research links with many areas of the Faculty. The department performed very well in the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) and is ranked amongst the leading Sport and Exercise Science providers in the UK across all major University League Tables.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, adaptable individual who will contribute to the continuing strength of the Department across its teaching, research and enterprise missions. The successful applicant will be expected to engage in the full range of academic duties associated with a Lectureship. These include the ability to produce research to a standard that is REF returnable via collaboration within and outside the Department/University, an active involvement with departmental and institution-wide research themes, capability for grant capture/income generation, teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students (e.g., MRes, MPhil, PhD) and a capability to contribute to the vocational relevance of our curriculum pathways in accordance with University strategy.
In addition to holding a PhD and having published in relevant peer-review journals, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who are able to demonstrate experience of scholarship in the broad areas of clinical biomechanics with additional expertise in areas such as strength and conditioning, injury prevention in specialist populations, and human performance.
