Our prestigious client based in Portsmouth have been developing and preparing dishes for restaurants and food service companies across various industries for many years now and are looking for a New Product Development Assistant to help further develop their business.

You would be assisting the Technical Manager on a day to day basis with production specifications, obtaining ingredients specs, preparing for audits, helping with and carrying out GMP audits, administration, answering the telephone and meeting with potential customers both on and off site.

Your duties would include:

-          Researching current, emerging and future food industry trends as well as brainstorming and designing dishes based on these trends

-          Sourcing new ingredients

-          Liaising with supplier and customers

-          Chopping ingredients for production needs as and when required

-          Cooking samples, tweaking as required to satisfy customer's needs and costs

-          Recording NPD departmental spending and ingredients taken from stock for NPD purposes

-          General kitchen cleaning duties

-          Managing time effectively to ensure deadlines are met

-          Recipe cost engineering to given targets

-          Printing tasting sheets for the week and carrying out organoleptic testing on samples of each batch produced during production

-          Supervising manufacture of new product lines in the factory

-          Raising purchase orders and ordering stock lines as and when required

This position is based in Portsmouth, the working hours would be Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00.
