Do you have a good working knowledge of seamanship skills and have a comprehensive knowledge of the berthing and slipping of vessels?

We require a Quay Assistant to join our team at Portsmouth International Port. Your duties will include the berthing and slipping of ferries, plus general cleaning and safety watches. You will be required to work shifts, so you must be flexible in your working hours and must be physically fit with the ability to swim. In addition you should be trained and competent in manual handling techniques, fire fighting and life saving procedures.

As we require someone until the end of September it would be preferable if applicants had no holiday commitments during the summer months.

Summer Seasonal (Temporary) Quay Assistant - Fixed term post until the 30 September 2015

Salary: £17,077 - £19,849 p.a. (including allowances £26,300)

44.5 hours per week

The shift pattern is a two week cycle with one day off each week (Thursday) and consists of 6 early split shifts (0500/0600 to 0930 and then 1245 to 1545) 1 day off (Thursday), followed by 6 late shifts (1600 to 2400) 1 day off (Thursday)

This is a temporary post only for the summer season and will end on 30 September 2015.
