My client is a very successful food dispatcher based in Portsmouth is looking to recruit a Transport Operator on a permanent basis. The successful role holder will be responsible for the daily planning of the company's vehicles and ensuring drivers are given clear instructions.

Working hours are Tuesday to Saturday 8am-6pm. Candidates who apply must be available to work these hours.

Duties to include:

• Ensuring all elements of the job are effectively communicated to drivers
• To plan the effective utilisation of drivers and vehicles
• Ensure that all drivers are working in a safe environment and follow drivers hours regulations
• Liaising with other operators and managers to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practice
• Conducting investigations into accidents or issues of driver performance and raising with management & HR
• Working alongside fleet to ensure timely return of vehicles

Experience Required

• Experience in similar role within the transport & logistics industry
• Experience of report writing using excel
• Good attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Logical thinker
