Working as part of an estate based team, you will work in a variety of locations across the estate to meet our purpose to 'keep the local area clean and tidy'. This is a service which has a huge impact for our residents who live in our blocks and the local area.

Carry out Grounds Maintenance (GM) tasks to communal areas of land owned and managed by Portsmouth City Council (PCC) Housing Service, including a complimentary gardening service to eligible tenants, and on other areas of PCC owned land

Use of a variety of G.M. equipment e.g. push and ride-on mowers, hedge-guns, strimmers and a range of hand-tools.

Correct usage and routine care & maintenance of equipment.

To make necessary pulls on other services to ensure that the local area is clean and tidy. E.g. bulk refuse removal, repairs Anti-Social Behaviour.

Work in an effective and efficient way, and suggest and implement improved ways of working wherever possible.

To work as part of the local Housing Office Green and Clean team. The work of our GM team is seasonally influenced. If, on completion of the apprenticeship, you are recruited to a permanent position you will join the ranks as a Cleaner/Gardener and may be expected to work as a cleaner on our estate during the winter season.

Observe all Health and safety rules and take reasonable care to promote the health and safety of themselves and others.

To attend Horticultural college one day a week and complete all course work and trade training.
