We are seeking to appoint to the post of Student Placements Manager for a one year contract or the earlier return of the current postholder from maternity leave.
This role is to support the University’s strategic aim to enable all students to undertake a career enhancing activity via placements, work-based learning and other work experience programmes.
The postholder will work in conjunction with the Associate Dean (Students) who leads the implementation of the Faculty’s strategy on all activity relating to the placements and work-based learning.
Applicants should have experience of managing work experience or placements and of working in Higher or Further Education. The successful candidate will have excellent IT, customer care and problem solving skills.
The person appointed will support the delivery of workshops and work with the Faculty Careers Adviser and members of academic staff who are employability leads in their Department.
Working in a busy office environment and supervising one member of staff, they will need to demonstrate a professional approach, the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, intercultural awareness and a keen desire to provide and deliver a high quality service for students, staff and external clients of the Faculty.
