What is the Job?

Working across the Information Service you will deliver exceptional customer service to Portsmouth City Council staff.

You will be responsible for basic IT work such as equipment moves and disposals, the logging, investigating and resolving of simple incidents and requests.

This role is ideal for someone looking to take their first steps into a career in IT and so only a good base level of IT knowledge is required. However a positive attitude, fantastic behaviors and a willingness to learn is essential. You will be expected to study for and pass the CompTia A+ qualification which will require considerable commitment from you, including studying in your own time.

You will have skill in the following areas: • Communicating via the telephone • Customer Support • Using your own initiative and thriving under pressure • Communication, both verbal and written • Team working • Able to write clear and concise incident / problem reports • Microsoft Office 2010 • Windows 7

Working Time Arrangements: • Required to participate in a team rota to cover the period between 8:00am and 6:00pm. • May be required to undertake some work during the evening or at weekends.

You will be eligible to receive the "living wage" supplement if you are appointed between Band 1-Band 3 scale point 11 (as at 1.1.2015) which currently takes your basic salary to £7.85 per hour.
