Applications are invited for the position of Research Fellow in the Logistics and Operational Research Group at the University of Portsmouth.  This post will suit a researcher in applied operational research or logistics looking to strengthen and expand their research portfolio. The research fellow will work with Prof Dylan Jones and Dr Djamila Ouelhadj in order to engage in research relevant to the application themes of the Centre of Operational Research and Logistics. This will result in research outputs including high quality research bid preparation.

Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in Logistics, Operational Research, or a related discipline. Experience in applied research and/or analysis of real world problems is required. Ideally, they should have experience in dealing with industrial and/or governmental problem owners and decision makers.

Applicants should also be able to perform effectively under pressure and time constraints, possess good organisational and time management skills, pay close attention to detail, and have effective interpersonal skills.

Applicants should be willing to undertake travel on a European scale.
