Property & Housing Service - Design Group

We are looking for an enthusiastic student who has recently completed their Masters Degree in Architecture (RIBA Part 2) to join our team. We have a diverse and expanding workload that includes education, housing and leisure projects.

What the job is… We are offering the opportunity to work on real projects at every stage of development, from initial design through to completion.

You will be given a range of interesting and varied tasks aimed at developing your skills in design and broadening your practical understanding of the profession.

So, if you can provide us with an enthusiastic and committed approach to design: excellent graphic skills: an ability to work as part of a team and ideally (though not essentially) AutoCAD/Revit skills, we can offer you a design conscious, lively environment in which you will be encouraged and supported by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

Who the person is…

• A Masters Graduate, ideally with experience of working on education projects during the RIBA Part 1 year-out, with the intention of working towards the RIBA Part 3 examination in Professional Practice. • Excellent design and presentation skills • An appropriate ability to communicate clearly with clients and to build good relationship with them • An appropriate ability to communicate with contractors and the design team, to help keep projects on target • An ability to give presentations to clients and explain technical terms to them • An appropriate understanding of the various legislation involved in the industry, including Planning, Building and CDM Regulations • Ideally (though not essentially), a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and knowledge of Photoshop and SketchUp. • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft packages) • An ability to travel around the city in an economic and efficient way
