The University of Portsmouth is a thriving institution - being a centre of excellence and innovation in education, student experience and employability, aspiration raising, research, knowledge transfer and community leadership, and highly valued by its staff as a supportive workplace.
The University of Portsmouth’s Student Wellbeing Service offers integrated emotional, psychological and mental health support to students in order to help them succeed in their studies. A multidisciplinary team of professional clinical and support practitioners contributes extensive experience, knowledge and skills from a range of professional backgrounds, including social work, counselling, occupational therapy, psychology and nursing.
We are now seeking an experienced mental health practitioner to join the Wellbeing team, with key responsibilities to include: carrying a case load of students with mental health support needs; contributing to the duty rota, advising and responding to students with urgent queries and needs; and supporting students in accessing external services where relevant. We require practitioners with enthusiasm for and commitment to short term, solution focused work with young people, and confidence working in a multidisciplinary team in the context of Higher Education. A qualification or interest in psychological therapy would be welcomed.
