This is an exciting opportunity to work within the city development team in an ambitious waterfront city. Portsmouth has many assets - a rich culture, an expansive seafront, world class heritage attractions and many national events such as the Great South Run.

The City Development service is working to secure sustainable economic growth for the city and improve the quality of life for residents and to attract investors.

We're looking for an experienced policy planner to join our team. You will develop a Local Plan strategy to lead the development of Portsmouth over the next 15 years. You will join early in the process preparing a draft planning document setting out the issues and options facing Portsmouth so you will have scope to help shape the process at the outset, contribute and extend your planning experience.
