Why are we recruiting?

We are currently recruiting for Operatives to work for a well known shipping company based within Portsmouth Docks. They are recruiting to expand their current teams inline with company growth.

About the role:

We are recruiting for experienced counterbalance forklift drivers to work in Portsmouth docks. You will play a key part in the loading and unloading of shipping cargo dockside. You must enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment and having a good sense of humour is a must.

What do you require for this job?

You must hold a valid counterbalance forklift and full driving licence.

You will need to be flexible as you will need to be able to work both days and nights.

Hours of Work:

You will be given an annualised contract, meaning no set hours. You can expect to be called into work when the boats are in dock so the hours of work depend on the shipping schedules but will predominately mean you will work weekends Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.

Salary:

Your salary will start at £24,800 per annum. Once you have been trained on 4 different types of forklift you salary will increase to £27,900 per annum. After additional training has been provided you can expect a further increase to £31,000 per annum.
