This is a unique new opportunity to play a leading role in the development of a multi-disciplinary and industry focussed Department of Engineering and Applied Design with an emphasis on training industry ready graduates with high levels of transferable innovative and creative skills.
The post holder will have specialist knowledge in the field of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and will have substantial experience of programme development and delivery and academic management.
The successful candidate will create and launch a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, which will include: Electronics, Photonics and Electrical Engineering; Mechanical and Materials Engineering; Product Design and Innovation Engineering; and Materials' Science Engineering.
In addition to developing new programmes, the post holder will take a leading role in the development and provision of degree apprenticeships and placements for Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Candidates must hold a good relevant first degree, with professional or academic qualifications at doctoral level and have evidence of continuing professional development. An in-depth understanding of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at a level to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the subject area is essential.
