Interview date: TBC

The University of Portsmouth is a leading modern university with a strong reputation for teaching and research. Ranked in the top 2% of the world's universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and one of the world's top 100 universities under 50, the University has a population of 25,000 students and 2,500 full-time equivalent staff.

The University’s strategic ambition commits us to investing significantly in our staff, facilities and estate. We have developed our Estate Masterplan to promote student experience, facilitate collaborative learning and grow our research and innovation activities. The resources we will commit to achieving this plan will strengthen the brand and reputation of our University by providing an estate which both ourselves and our city can be proud of and which meets our current and future needs.

As part of this investment we plan to grow our Estates & Campus Services Team and are seeking individuals with the relevant expertise to contribute to the delivery of the masterplan, which will see investment in excess of £400M in the medium term.

Reporting to and deputising for the Director of Estates and Campus Services, the Deputy Director Capital Projects & Property will lead the estates planning, strategy and capital development functions for the University.  You will lead and manage in-house and external teams across a range of activities including masterplanning, development planning, property management, space management and capital programme delivery.

The successful candidate will possess a track record of leading a large scale capital development programme and will have experience of contributing to estates and development strategy in a comparable context.  You will have the capability to lead and manage a team of property professionals and will have the high level communication skills required to operate successfully at an influential level with internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in the continued and future success of the University whilst leading a development programme that will help continue the regeneration of one of Britain’s most historic cities.

For a discussion and the full job particulars please contact our advisors Ben Duffill or Nick Coppard of The Management Recruitment Group.  The Management Recruitment Group has been exclusively retained for this campaign. All direct and third party applications will be forwarded to them.
