A Senior Admissions Officer working in the University Admissions Centre (UAC) specialising in Postgraduate admissions is required. The University Admissions Centre is responsible for the admission of students to our undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses and receives around 35,000 applications each year.

Senior Admissions Officers are responsible for making high level decisions on applications, liaising with academic staff, applicants and other relevant University services as well as providing the best quality service to all applicants and staff and to external customers e.g. UCAS, UCAS Teacher Training, schools and colleges.

In addition to the general functions of the Senior Admissions Officer contained in the job description and person specification, this post-holder will, alongside the management team of the UAC, specialise in the development and implementation of processes that improve the Postgraduate application service for applicants, advisers, Faculties and University central services.

Additionally, the post-holder will be responsible for the oversight of the progress with decision making on Postgraduate applications. This will include, ensuring that decision making progresses in accordance with agreed timelines and processes; that applicant communications are appropriate and timely and that suitable reporting and monitoring arrangements are established and maintained.

Candidates are required to have a good knowledge of admissions (ideally postgraduate admissions in a Higher Education environment) and excellent customer service skills are essential.
