Interview date:  28 September 2017

The School of Education and Childhood Studies is seeking to employ a permanent Senior Lecturer to lead the expanding network of foundation degree collaborative partnerships in the department. The post will be based at the University and will act as the University Academic Contact supporting a range of partner colleges who deliver both the Foundation Degree (FDA) in Early Years and the Foundation degree (FDA) in Learning Support.

In September 2017 a new collaborative partnership network is beginning for the FDA in Learning Support, this has led to the department reconsidering how its foundation degree programmes are coordinated. The School of Education and Childhood Studies is seeking to employ a new member of staff who will be responsible for the leadership of the newly validated FDA in Learning Support, as well as, the already established FDA in Early Years collaborative provision. In order to lead a high quality provision which is highly subscribed to the successful candidate will need to develop strong working relationships with each of the partner colleges and provide administrative support to the successful delivery of the programmes.

In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to teach on a range of courses based at the university. These teaching duties will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake research and knowledge transfer activities that support the School’s professional and vocational courses.

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong commitment to high quality teaching and research.  The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be student-centred, and have relevant teaching experience, knowledge and understanding of either; early years or special educational needs, and knowledge of online/blended learning.
