Apprentice - EBS Support - Temporary for up to 18 months.

Salary: £15,276 p.a.

Reports to: E-Business Suite Support Manager

We are a customer focussed friendly team with high developmental expectations of our staff. As we work closely together team fit is important to us.

We are looking for someone with the potential to progress into a permanent role at the end of the apprenticeship.

The Service

The EBS Support Team is part of the Finance Service and is in the Finance and IT Directorate. The EBS Support Team is responsible for system support, maintenance and development of the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) systems. EBS allows the council to order goods and services, pay suppliers, collect income, maintain accounting records, hold employee data and pay employees. The OBI system is a strategic reporting tool.

What is the job?

Provide high quality, detailed technical support and assistance to end-users of the Oracle E-Business Suite on a day-to-day basis in accordance with performance targets set out in the Financial Services Service Specification. You will provide first line support for user incidents raised to the EBS Service Desk and escalate more complex problems to senior colleagues within the EBS Support Team.

Undertake period end procedures and financial reconciliations

You will report to the EBS Support Manager but will be supervised on a daily basis by the EBS Project and Support Officer. You will participate in testing some elements of new functionality and provide project support for system development and upgrade activity.

We are looking for someone who is:

In addition you need:

• An interest in IT and good IT skills, you should be familiar with MS Excel, Word and Outlook, • Good numerical skills. • You must like a challenge and have a systematic approach to identifying and solving complex problems. • Able to produce and execute clear and feasible plans and solutions • You must respond positively to pressure, be able to successfully multi-task, and be comfortable working within a team. • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service • A good communicator with good interpersonal skills to develop relationships with people at all levels
