We are looking for a research and/or consultancy active sport and exercise psychologist with expertise in professional practice and skill acquisition/motor control. You will join an enthusiastic sport and exercise psychology team at the University of Chichester on a 0.4 fte part time basis. The role is to cover maternity leave and the contract is expected to be until July 2019. As part of this role you will develop the academic provision in sport and exercise psychology and promote its internal and external reputation.


You will actively engage in a range of activities that ensure learning and teaching quality and will engage in scholarly activity and research as agreed with your line manager. You will either hold a PhD in skill acquisition, sport or exercise psychology or a relevant area of psychology, or be in the final stages of completing a PhD in these areas. You will be able to foster creative approaches when responding to teaching, learning and scholarship challenges and contribute to the development of a culture of innovation and enterprise.


Although not essential it would be desirable if you have a current BASES Accreditation and/or Registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist status with the Health and Care Professions Council, and if you held a coaching qualification and/or have some coaching experience.
