Location
Portsmouth
Contract
Permanent

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

The aim of this service is to provide a safe, supportive & welcoming home where young people who have a learning disability and emotional needs can develop their self esteem, confidence, resilience and life skills for adulthood.

The Senior Support Worker will be responsible for working with the Manager to manage and develop the Young People's Service, enabling its tenants to safely live the lives they choose, while developing their own independence.

Although the service is not registered with the Care Quality Commission as personal care is not currently provided, this is subject to review. You are therefore expected to help the Young People's Service meet the requirements of the Care Standards Act and Regulations, ensuring the services meet the standards set out by the Care Quality Commission and other legal requirements including Portsmouth's Safeguarding policies.

To do this you will manage and work as a team with staff, tenants, care and other agencies to ensure that the emotional, medical and material needs of tenants are recognised, assessed and met and to enable each tenant to achieve their full potential.

Shifts will include  a mixture of early mornings, late shifts and sleep-in shifts.
