We have a part time opportunity for an Academic Skills Advisor to join the University of Chichester for a fixed term of up to 1 year to cover a period of maternity leave. Ideally our successful candidate will commence in post during the end of August 2019.

Providing a professional advice and support service across a range of academic and study skills that will add value to the student experience is pivotal to the University. We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional Academic Skills Advisor to provide advice and support for all students on a range of academic and study skills, and work with academics and other members of staff to enhance the broad provision of study skills support across the University.

With an extensive knowledge of academic referencing conventions, you will be responsible for the promotion, design and delivery of workshops, group-work and drop-in sessions for all students, in addition to providing individual support sessions.

Whilst able to work independently, you will also be encouraged to work collaboratively; participating in the development of relevant initiatives, such as the support and information zone to ensure effective coordination, promotion and development of services across the University.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will have the relevant interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills to be effective in post. You will also have experience of teaching study skills or key skills to adults in an education environment and have a flexible approach to your work pattern.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Roz Hall, Learning Technologies & Skills Development Manager via telephone 01243 816135, or email: M.Hall@chi.ac.uk

The University of Chichester welcomes applicants from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds as they are currently under-represented at this level.
