We are expanding our Nursing academic provision within our new School of Nursing and Allied Health; this is an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape the future of our Nursing and Allied Health workforce in West Sussex. Our Pre-Registration Adult Nursing courses are commended by the NMC for academic quality, innovation and close relationships to healthcare and wider sectors in which our graduates work. Led by an ambitious development strategy, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Nursing to enable successful implementation and enhancement of our portfolio. At Senior Lecturer level the post holder will be expected to be a programme lead for new courses and engage in the planning, design and leadership of teaching and research activity of person-centred acute care nursing in the adult context in the University. Ideally candidates will have knowledge, experience and skills to lead a Nursing curriculum, contribute to our evolving research strategy and enable contemporary contribution within the field of acute care practice. You will need to be a current nurse registrant (RN/Adult or RGN) with the Nursing Midwifery Council, have demonstrable expertise in innovative, effective and inspirational teaching and learning for students, have a postgraduate qualification in teaching or be prepared to undertake one. The successful candidate will have a deep appreciation of nursing practice in the acute care field, demonstrate emotional intelligence, be pro-active, enthusiastic and enjoy working as a team. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills and professional practices.
