Home Bargains will soon be launching their first store in Hampshire on the Wellington Retail Park, Waterlooville. The Portsmouth area will benefit from a £500,000 investment when a new store opens this Saturday.

Best of all  the new shop will also create circa 40 new jobs in the Portsmouth area.

The chain which currently boasts over 300 existing stores says they plan to open another 50 stores throughout the country over the next year.

Operations Director at Home Bargains, Joe Morris, said: “We’re excited to be opening our first Hampshire store in Waterlooville and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors. The 10,000 sq ft store will give shoppers the chance to get their hands on the latest bargains, including a selection of homewares.”

“Wellington Retail Park will be a great location for us. We’re thrilled to be in a position to offer local people top branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

Havant’s Mayor and Mayoress, Gerald and Elaine Shimbart, will be officially opening the store at 8.30am on Saturday.

Work is underway on clearing the old Caetano coach building factory and Sprint Print, formerly on the Aston Road Industrial Estate site which is located next door, in order to clear space for a giant Sainsburys superstore to be built which it is expected will create circa 350 new jobs in and around Portsmouth.
